About Cavalier Crazy:
Cavalier Crazy Rescue was founded in 2010. It started with one Cavalier that needed a home, and has just grown from there! As of 2015 we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Talk to your accountant about your donations.

We are dedicated to helping Cavaliers in need in Utah. All of our dogs live in foster homes, we do not have a shelter. We have our dogs health checked for heart and knee problems, they are spayed or neutered and are up to date on shots, have microchips and dentals are given when needed before they go to their new homes.

We will adopt to out of state adopters, but only if you are within driving distance of Utah. You must come to Utah to meet the dog you are interested in. We do not ship. If you are in state we require a home visit, if you are out of state we require photos of your yard, and may require a home visit if we have a volunteer in the area. We do not adopt to homes without a fenced yard! Adoptions to families in apartments depend on the dogs needs. We believe that adoptions are on a case by case basis and will work to find the right home for the dog. We will always take our dogs back no questions asked if things do not work out or your circumstances change. It is important for us that our adopters stay in touch and feel free to contact us with questions or concerns!

If you are interested in any of our listed dogs, please download the following application, complete it and email it back to us. If you're not interested in a specific dog, it doesn't hurt to have an application on file in case one comes in.

**Many, if not most, of our dogs, get adopted by their foster families. So many of our intakes never make it to our website or Petfinder.**

Adoption Fees

Our adoption fees vary based on age, from $100-$850 based upon age and breed.

Why so high? We charge higher fees for young, healthy highly adoptable puppies so we can continue to take in special needs and senior dogs whose vet costs typically run from $300-$1000 and our fee on seniors is usually around $150.

All adoptions include: health checkup, spay/neuter, shots, dental if needed, microchip, new leash and collar and some food the dog is eating.

Adoption fees are subject to change.

Can't adopt but would still like to help?

Consider being a foster home!

Foster homes are vital to keeping a rescue running. Our ability to save as many dogs as we can depends entirely on our fosters!

If you foster for Cavalier Crazy we pay for all medical expenses. We ask that you provide food, but arrangements can be made if that's not possible! Your foster cavalier will come to you with any and all supplies that you need, including a crate, collar, leash, bowls. We want to make fostering as easy as possible! If the dog needs to go to the vet or groomer, you can take them or you can make arrangements and we will do it, but either way the rescue pays for the appointment.

You can be as involved in the adoption process as you would like! Want to interview prospective families? You can! Want to leave it all to us? That's fine too!

We strive to make good matches both in our adoptive families and our foster families. So if you would like to be a foster and live in Utah please download the application below, complete it and email it back.

Thanks for your interest in Cavalier Crazy!

Interested in learning more about our foster to adopt program?

While primarily we do this with puppies, there are occasions where we do this with adult dogs as well.

Once you have an approved adoption application and have submitted photos/videos of your yard we will match you up with a dog who you will meet and if you feel it’s a good fit, you sign a foster to adopt agreement and pay half of the adoption fee up front. Once the dog has had its vetting we finalize the adoption, the remainder of the fee is paid and we then transfer ownership of the dog, vet records and transfer the microchip to the adopter. If at any time in the foster to adopt period it is clear the dog is not a good fit, we will work with you to find a new foster to adopt home for the dog and refund the adoption fee.

This is different from a spay/neuter contract in that we schedule the spay/neuter and the ownership of the dog isn’t transferred until after the surgery. We do this to ensure the dog gets spayed/neutered when it needs to be done.

Foster to adopt homes must be in Utah, from Ogden to Provo, and must be willing to come to Murray or Tooele for surgeries. Exceptions may be made for outside that area but adopter must come to Murray or Tooele for vetting.
